Amy Cashell is a slightly above average amateur musician who started playing violin in 1993 and started playing string bass in 1997. She studied under Jaroslav Cinibulk for 2 years, and in 1995, began studying with Deborah Barron. From 1997-2002 she was 3rd chair violin in the Carroll County All-County Orchestra. She regularly achieved superior ratings at the county and state level solo and ensemble festivals. In addition to her classical training, Amy has trained with Bob Turbanic of Wheeling Park High School in Wheeling, WV on bluegrass fiddle. She is currently teaching herself Celtic Fiddle.
Amy joined the Baltimore Philharmonia orchestra in 2011. She has also been a member of the Encore Community Orchestra in Westminster since 1997 and is the Principal Violinist. When not playing her violin, Amy likes to fish, enjoys outdoor photography, and is an advocate for melanoma awareness.
