Who we are

The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra (BPO) is a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit, powered by a collective of accomplished, all-volunteer musicians. Our 2026-2027 season exemplifies our commitment to community enrichment by proudly presenting the thrilling masterworks of the symphonic repertoire and popular classics. Our core mission is clear: to champion accessible, high-quality music by delivering all concerts free of charge and without contingency to the Baltimore area, while actively cultivating the next generation of artistic talent through awards and scholarships.

Our Mission

The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra Inc., founded in 1998 is a not-for-profit community based all-volunteer orchestra of accomplished musicians. We incorporate musicians of all ages to play the masterworks of the symphonic repertoire; to encourage the love of classical music and to provide a series of regular concerts of classical and popular music to the community at no cost.

The goals of our orchestra are to educate, further the love and enjoyment of classical music by making it more accessible to the Baltimore area communities through regular concerts at no cost and perform public concerts.

The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra, Inc., has been a valued cultural asset to the citizens of Baltimore and the surrounding area. The Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra, Inc., maintains permanent tax-exempt status-listed in the IRS 501c (3) category.
