BPO In the Baltimore Sun

In 2008, the Baltimore Sun featured the Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra as a community-powered ensemble where passion for music takes center stage. Made up largely of volunteer and semi-professional musicians, the orchestra brings people together who rehearse and perform not for pay, but for the shared joy of creating symphonic music. The article highlights the group’s commitment to making classical music accessible and welcoming, often offering free or low-cost concerts for the public while maintaining high artistic standards. Overall, the piece portrays the orchestra as a vibrant cultural presence in Baltimore, demonstrating how dedication, collaboration, and a love of music can help the arts thrive in the community.
