Judy Sammel
Judy lives in Catonsville, MD, and currently plays flute and piccolo with the Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra, the Naptown Philharmonic, and the Anne Arundel Community College Orchestra. She’s performed on piccolo, concert flute, alto flute, bass flute, and contrabass flute in flute choirs in Maryland, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. She’s performed in the past with the Gettysburg Symphony, Longwood Symphony (Boston), Columbia (MD) Orchestra, Columbia (MD) Concert Band (including as a soloist), Herrenberg Stadtorchester (Germany), Rheinhessische Bläserphilharmonie (Germany), and in a variety of chamber ensembles, as well as in the orchestra pit for a number of community theater groups. Judy has performed with the International Flute Orchestra on tours to France, China, Turkey, and Japan. She has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Towson (State) University, and a graduate degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. When she’s not playing flute, Judy can usually be found on an international travel adventure.
