Katie O’Hara

Katie O’Hara joined the Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra following the pandemic and finds great fulfillment in sharing music through collaborative performance. Her favorite musical memory took place in 2019 while in Hinche, Haiti, for a goat internship, where she led group music lessons and coached chamber ensembles. During this time, she found immense joy in witnessing her students’ growth in both character and technique as they developed essential skills in leadership, listening, and personal growth of their instruments.

Within the BPO, Katie’s fondest memories are the light-hearted banter and shared laughter during rehearsals that build a true sense of community. Outside of the orchestra, she works full-time for a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. While Shostakovich is her favorite composer, her favorite symphonic work is Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis. In her spare time, Katie is an active swimmer and loves spoiling her "fur children"—her dog and cats.
