Madeleine Engel is a new member of the Baltimore Philharmonia as of 2025. She previously played in a student-run orchestra at the University of Virginia. A Virginia native, she moved to Baltimore in 2023 to work at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital. Her favorite composer is Dvorak, and her favorite piece she has played is Jupiter from the Planets. Her favorite memory of the orchestra thus far was the 2025 Holiday concert encore, where the conductor wore a light-up Christmas hat! As the new social media coordinator, she is excited to connect performers and enjoyers of orchestral music.
