Mike Catelinet

Mike Catelinet first played in the Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra in the 2003 season. He and his wife, Shira, re-joined in 2021, and he has served as Principal Second Violin since. Mike is also a section first violinist in the Columbia Orchestra and the Greenspring Valley Orchestra of Stevenson University. He has previously played in the Howard County Ballet Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Mt. Vernon Place, and the Johnstown (PA) Symphony Orchestra.

Mike is a native of Johnstown, PA and studied Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Mike's teachers have included Melina Gajger of the Peabody Conservatory and Dr. Stanley Chepaitis of Indiana University (PA).

Mike's favorite pieces of music are Vaughan Williams' 5th symphony and Mahler's 4th symphony, which he hopes to perform someday. Mike and Shira are owned by a very needy Norwegian Forest cat named Shayna.
