Dr. Rodney Allen
Dr. Rodney D. Allen is a retired staff sergeant, Army veteran with the 287th Army Band and Orchestra. He served with the unit for 20 years, 7 days, and provided military support to several units during the following conflicts: Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received 29 ribbons, 22 medals, and 7 oak leaf clusters for his service. Dr. Allen also served as a music educator and retired after 27 years with the Baltimore City Public Schools. Dr. Allen is also a part-time music teacher in the Washington, D.C., Public schools. Dr. Allen is also a full-time substitute teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools. He was a Master Teacher and served as a mentor for beginning teachers. Dr. Allen has a B.S. in Music Education from the Indiana State University School of Music, 1979. Master of Music in Violin Performance From Wells School of Music at West Chester University. 1981. Master’s equivalent Degree in Special Education from Shenandoah University School of Education, 2001. And a Ph.D from National University/NorthCentral University in Education from the Stamford School of Education and Music,2023, with honors, graduated cum laude. Dr. Allen is also a Presidential Scholar and an honorary member of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. Dr. Allen also did graduate studies at Rowan University, Catholic University, Chapman University, CCBC, and Grand Canyon University. Dr.Allen performs professionally with several groups. They are the Baltimore Philharmonic-Concert Master -Assistant Concertmaster, assistant conductor, Director of the Baltimore Philharmonic Youth Orchestra training program, The Go Go Symphony-Concert Master, The Accord Symphony -Principal Second Violin, Trinity Chamber Orchestra-Second violin, and the Columbia Concert Band-Third Trumpet. Dr. Allen plays the Violin, Piano, and Trumpet professionally. Dr. Allen has performed professionally in Germany 🇩🇪, South America 🇺🇸, the Virgin Islands 🇻🇬, and parts of the United States 🇺🇸 with multiple music groups.
Dr.Rodney Allen’s dissertation titled: An Examination of the Effect of Fine Arts Program on Math Standardized Test Performance: A Quantitative Non-experimental Study is listed in the Library of Congress, Google Scholar, ProQuest, and other Publications.
